2019 trip to Iceland

In the summer of 2019 (technically, our trip started in spring, as the Summer Solstice happened to be the second day of our trip), we took a 10-day (9 nights) road trip in Iceland. We mainly took the Ring Road (Highway 1) to take a round-the-island trip, but we also took several side trips and excursions.

This trip marked a few firsts for us: it is the farthest north we have been to (we came within 1 degree of the Arctic Circle); it is the first time we drove a car outside North America; Iceland is also the first foreign country where we took a around-the-country road trip.

Those days were action-packed: we had more than 20 hours of daylight each day (and on some days, even exceeding 23 hours), and even after the summer Arctic sunset, the "night" was still bright. And there were so many things to see and to do in Iceland, we were out and about for many hours every day. Each page below covers the activities of each day, I hope you enjoy this trip as well, if not in person, at least in my pictures.
